Michelle Wallace has written on arts and culture for the San Francisco Chronicle, SF Station, Pilates Style Magazine, The Menlo Park Almanac as well as having frequently contributed to The Tico Times (a San José, Costa Rica based paper) and been a staff writer at The Owl Mag.

She founded and curates the monthly reading series, The Kaleidoscope Readings Series, which features poets and prose-writers from around the Bay Area.

Of mixed heritage, borders—political and otherwise—have long drawn Michelle’s intrigue. In answer to this, she began blogging (mexusborderart.blogspot.com) about art that addresses the U.S.-Mexican border. She is currently working on a collection of short stories about the border politics, issues and the emotional toll of the people who cross or police it.

Michelle attended Voices of Our Nation this past summer and is currently finishing her MFA in Creative Writing at Mills College.
